Eating Disorder Treatment and Prevention

At One Connection we recognizes the social, cultural, and medical influence on the relationship with ones body, food, and exercise. We practice prevention of disordered eating and exercise through awareness of the power a provider or teacher can have on influencing the relationship with an individual's body. We place the patients relationship with self first to empower patients to make choices that strengthen intuition and trust in self. We step away from the traditional model of basing health on weight and body size and use the concepts of Health at Every Size ® and Intuitive Eating to both prevent disordered eating to begin with as well as for those who already struggle with this relationship

With our patients we not only  provide physiological health monitoring and maintenance, but will aid in beginning the journey to self-compassion and intuitive living. With extensive background in nutrition and additional training in counseling, we are a key component to an individuals eating disorder support team. Please contact us to inquire if we are the right fit for you or a loved one.

Medical management of eating disorders in an outpatient setting can include lab and vital monitoring, referrals and care coordination of a support team including to nutrition, therapy and coaching, as well as support stepping up or down to higher level of care where indicated. We practice from a harm reduction approach and aknowledge not everyone is a good candidate for higher level of care and do our best to manage what we can in an outpatient setting where appropriate.
