What is neurofeedback?
Neurofeedback is training for your brain. We use nodes placed on the head to read your brain wave activity. The system then provides feedback to your brain, via sound patterns that you listen to, in order to improve brain wave function. This process is a functional, retraining of brain waves to promote better self-regulation or cohesiveness, resiliency against stressors and flexibility.
Sessions
You will meet with Dr Curtis to discuss your concerns and goals. Together you will come up with a treatment plan to determine how many sessions are recommended. Most people will need between 10-20 sessions. Your first visit will be 1 hour and include your first Neurofeedback session. Neurofeedback sessions take about 30 minutes. Each session after that will be 45 minutes and include a brief check-in and Neurofeedback session.
Does my insurance plan cover this?
Maybe! Each insurance plan will be different, but many of them do cover neurofeedback, with some out of pocket expenses. Dr Curtis will be using a visit code 99213 or 99212 and a Neurofeedback code 90875. To ensure coverage, call your insurance company to verify your specific coverage. They will likely have specific diagnoses they will allow Neurofeedback treatment for. If you have any questions about this, please ask our Front Desk staff for help. If your insurance does not cover this service, the first session will be $90 and each session after will be $75. Packages of 5 for $325 are also available.
