Dr. Shereen Spriggs
Pronouns: She/Her
Dr. Shereen Spriggs identifies(She/her) as a queer, fat, Iranian, disabled, neurodiverse woman, and these identities will show up with others in the space they create together.
Her passions and experiences are rooted in working with adults (18+), LGBTQIA2s+, BIPOC, larger-bodied/fat individuals, neurodiverse people (ADHD/Autism/OCD), chronically ill individuals and is also poly/kink affirming.
She practices from a fat liberation lens and supports people in body trust, intuitive eating, and gentle nutrition. She strives to work with individuals and their bodies from a place of curiosity, exploration, and gathering helpful data that will inform decisions from a place of awareness and self-compassion. She helps identify when internalized systems of oppression (fat-phobia, ableism) are guiding decisions and takes time to sit with and dismantle those belief systems that do not serve them.
As a primary care provider, she enjoys supporting patients with endocrine disorders (PCOS, diabetes, and insulin resistance), chronic illnesses (EDS/hypermobility, MCAS, POTS, fibromyalgia, chronic pain), eating disorders (BED, orthorexia, anorexia nervosa, ARFID), GI issues (GERD, IBS, IBD, chronic constipation, gastroparesis), mental health challenges (anxiety, depression, relational challenges, life transitions), hormonal health, asthma, eczema, and allergies.
Tools that Dr. Spriggs commonly uses in her practice include medications, supplements, herbs, lab testing, myofascial cupping, red light laser, holding emotional space, hydrotherapy, and trigger point injections.
She studied neurobiology at the University of Washington and graduated from Bastyr with a Doctorate in Naturopathic Medicine. In her day-to-day life, she enjoys cooking for loved ones, traveling, and creating space for the community to come together.
