Meet Dr. Kate Mattax
I believe the relationship between a patient and their healthcare provider is something special. One of my favorite parts of practicing at One Connection Healthcare is that I get to show up as myself, you get to show up as yourself, and together we can explore your healthcare needs in a way that centers you as the expert in your lived experience.
After earning my Doctorate of Naturopathic Medicine from Bastyr University, I completed a three-year residency at One Connection Healthcare under the mentorship of Dr. Lily Stokely and Dr. Michael Rak. My training has included private practices, outpatient surgical centers, federally qualified health centers, and community education settings, allowing me to care for patients across a wide range of backgrounds and health concerns.
Today, I provide comprehensive primary care in Seattle, Washington while helping patients navigate everything from preventive wellness to complex chronic conditions with curiosity, collaboration, and respect.
A Weight-Inclusive & Collaborative Approach to Primary Care
I recognize that many people feel both under-supported by the medical system and overwhelmed by wellness culture. My goal is to offer something different: thoughtful, evidence-informed care that meets you where you are, helps identify what matters most, and creates realistic next steps that fit your life.
I love turning medical complexity into something more understandable. You'll often find me sketching diagrams, reviewing lab trends, or mapping hormone pathways during visits so we can better understand how your symptoms fit together. My care is grounded in Health at Every Size®, and I consider the many factors that influence health—including racism, sexism, ableism, and socioeconomic barriers—when creating individualized treatment plans.
Healthcare works best when providers work together. I regularly coordinate care with physicians, therapists, dietitians, physical therapists, and other members of your healthcare team to help ensure your care feels connected, comprehensive, and centered around your goals.
Areas of Clinical Focus
-
I provide comprehensive naturopathic primary care, including annual wellness visits, preventive screenings, Pap smears, chronic disease management, and ongoing support through every stage of life. My goal is to build long-term relationships where you feel comfortable asking questions and confident that your care is truly coordinated.
-
Eating disorder recovery often requires thoughtful medical support alongside nutrition and mental health care. I provide outpatient medical management, including lab monitoring, medication management, medical stabilization, and close collaboration with therapists, dietitians, and higher levels of care when needed.
-
Pelvic floor concerns are common, but they shouldn't be something you simply have to live with. I support patients of all genders who are experiencing pelvic pain, urinary symptoms, constipation, postpartum recovery, pain with intimacy, prolapse, and core dysfunction through an integrative approach that combines medical care with hands-on therapies.
-
Hormones influence nearly every system in the body. Whether you're navigating menstrual concerns, perimenopause, menopause, fertility, or other hormonal changes, we'll work together to better understand what's happening and create a treatment plan that supports your health and long-term wellbeing.
-
When symptoms don't fit neatly into one diagnosis, it can feel frustrating and exhausting. I enjoy helping patients connect the dots between complex concerns, including digestive conditions, chronic pain, MCAS, SIBO, constipation, and other multisystem illnesses, while building practical treatment plans together.
-
In addition to primary care, I offer hands-on treatments including craniosacral therapy, visceral manipulation, trigger point injections, low level laser therapy, and other integrative techniques to support pain, mobility, healing, and overall function.

What Keeps Me Joyful
Outside of the clinic, I find joy in the little things: a perfectly foamy cappuccino, the Chicago skyline, being on or near the water, family dance parties, and the excitement of discovering a brand-new special interest. Those moments of curiosity, connection, and play help keep me grounded, and they allow me to show up fully for the people I care for each day.
