About Dr. Michael Manning
Hi, I’m Dr. Michael Manning (he/him), a licensed naturopathic physician providing integrative primary care for the whole family. I work with patients of all ages—from newborns and infants to teens and adults—whether you're coming in for an acute illness like a cold, managing a chronic health concern, or simply due for a wellness check-up.
My interest in medicine began early in life, inspired by the work my mother and grandmother did in hospitals and wartime settings. Over the years, my path into healthcare took many forms—from lifeguarding and EMT training to owning a nutrition business—but each experience reinforced the same lesson: prevention and whole-person care matter.
Ultimately, these experiences led me to naturopathic medicine, where I could focus on supporting health across the lifespan and helping families build sustainable foundations for long-term wellbeing.
My Clinical Philosophy
I believe that patients are the captains of their health journey—I’m here as the navigator.
Healthcare works best when it is collaborative. Using an evidence-informed approach that blends research, clinical expertise, and your personal values, I work with you and your family to create a path forward that makes sense for your life.
My care is rooted in naturopathic principles while also recognizing the broader context of health. I aim to practice in ways that are weight-inclusive, trauma-informed, and attentive to the social determinants of health that influence wellbeing.
In a healthcare system that can sometimes feel disconnected from both nature and the root causes of illness, my goal is to help patients reconnect with their health in a grounded, practical way.
Together, we focus on sustainable steps that support prevention, resilience, and long-term vitality.
My approach to care blends preventative medicine, primary care, and integrative therapies.
Sometimes that plan may be simple—like honey and herbs to support a child with a cough. Other times it may involve recommending an emergency room visit when a situation requires urgent care. And often it falls somewhere in between, such as beginning with lifestyle and nutrition support and adding medication when it becomes the best next step.
I draw from a wide range of tools depending on what each patient needs. These may include nutrition counseling, physical medicine techniques, mind–body therapies, and evidence-based medical care.
Because health rarely exists in isolation, I also consider the broader context of each patient’s life, including family systems, environmental exposures, stress, and lifestyle factors.
My goal is always to create thoughtful, practical care plans that help patients move forward with both clarity and confidence.
My Care Model
Clinical Experience
My path to becoming a physician has been shaped by a lifelong interest in prevention and patient care.
I earned my degree in Clinical Nutrition from the University of California, Davis, and later graduated from Bastyr University in 2023. I then completed a two-year naturopathic residency in outpatient primary care focused on pediatrics and family medicine at Eastside Natural Medicine.
With more than twenty years since my first patient care contact, going back to my early work as a lifeguard, my training has given me a deep appreciation for showing up for patients across the full spectrum of health concerns.
My clinical interests include:
Pediatric and family-centered care
Cardiovascular and metabolic health
Physical medicine and injury recovery
Environmental medicine and immune resilience
Nutrition counseling
Mind–body medicine and nervous system regulation
Endocrine and hormonal conditions such as PCOS and insulin resistance
Gastrointestinal concerns including GERD, IBS, and chronic constipation
Atopic conditions such as asthma, eczema, and allergies
Diagnostic services including allergy assessment and EKG/ECG analysis
My goal is always to provide thoughtful primary care while helping patients build strong foundations for long-term health.

Who I Serve
My practice is designed for patients and families who want a provider that truly hears their full story.
Many of the individuals I work with are looking for a practical, common-sense approach to healthcare—one that balances prevention with appropriate medical care when needed.
Patients who often thrive in my practice include:
Parents looking for integrative pediatric care for their children
Individuals managing chronic health conditions
Patients interested in prevention and metabolic health optimization
Those who have felt unheard or reduced to a single symptom in previous healthcare experiences
People who want a provider that will partner with them in making thoughtful health decisions
Whether you are just beginning your health journey or navigating a more complex path, my goal is to meet you where you are and help guide the next steps.
What Keeps Me Joyful
I am, at heart, a very family-oriented person. I have an amazing and loving wife and a large extended network of family members—parents, sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and grandparents—who keep me grounded and grateful.
I like to think I’m a blend of logical and light-heartedly silly. That balance allows me to enjoy travel, music, culture, food, and time in nature while also showing up fully for my patients on both the easy days and the difficult ones.
When I’m not in the clinic, you might find me foraging in the woods, traveling with my partner, or humming old choir tunes in the hallway.
