INTEGRATIVE PRIMARY CARE & COMPLEX CHRONIC ILLNESS CARE IN BALLARD

Dr. Amy Curtis provides person-centered, trauma-aware primary care and complex case management for adults of all genders at One Connection Healthcare in Ballard, Seattle.

Meet Dr. Amy Curtis

My background in public health helps shape my understanding of the complexities of health, wellness, and dis-ease. My outlook on health acknowledges both individual factors and the effects of community and societal structures.

My own experiences within the healthcare system—as both a patient and a caregiver—eventually brought me to naturopathic medicine. It was a natural progression on my path toward helping others reduce suffering.

Today, I provide primary care, problem-focused care, and complex chronic illness management for adults. My goal is to be a safe medical home for people who have felt dismissed because their symptoms do not fit neatly into a diagnosis.

Person-Centered, Nonjudgmental & Trauma-Aware Care

My approach is person-centered, nonjudgmental, and trauma-aware. I am grateful to have access to a variety of tools, and I see my role as providing education and guidance about how we can use the options available to us.

I do not believe there is one right way to approach health or a one-size-fits-all solution. My role is to learn about your needs and preferences, explain your options, and help guide you along the path you choose.

I am committed to providing unconditional respect to every individual, wherever they are in their health journey. Whether we are working to create greater stability in a chronic condition or addressing an acute illness, I want you to have the information and support needed to make the healthcare choices that are right for you.

I also have experience working with patients who have recovered from or are currently in recovery from an eating disorder. Although I do not focus on eating-disorder management, I take great care to avoid recommendations centered on weight loss or restrictive diets.

Areas of Clinical Focus

Background, Credentials, and Clinical Experience

My journey began in Florida, where I studied community health and education. It eventually brought me to Bastyr University, where I earned my Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine degree in 2019.

After graduation, I completed a two-year residency at One Connection Healthcare. My residency focused on primary care and complex, sometimes mysterious chronic illness.

During medical school, I pursued additional training in hands-on approaches intended to address pain, stress, and reduced vitality, including craniosacral therapy, visceral manipulation, hydrotherapy, and trigger-point injections.

After years of working with people living with complex chronic illness, I continue to learn how to prioritize what matters most in helping each patient live a full and meaningful life. My training and ongoing education help me discern safe and effective ways to support patients in achieving their health goals.

What Working With Dr. Curtis Looks Like

My goal is to provide a safe, thoughtful environment where you feel heard, respected, and empowered. I use a detailed, evidence-based process while recognizing that no single approach will be right for every person.

  • 01. Understanding the Whole Picture

I use detailed case-taking, imaging, and laboratory evaluation to gather the information needed to understand your health concerns.

Your symptoms are only one part of the picture. Your experiences, priorities, preferences, resources, and limitations also help shape our approach.

  • 02. An Individualized Treatment Plan

My practice draws from a blend of tools, including pharmaceuticals, botanical medicine, nutraceuticals and supplements, injection therapies such as IV nutrients or trigger-point injections, hands-on therapies, and neurofeedback.

A broad toolkit gives us options, but it does not mean that every tool is right for every person. Your treatment plan will be tailored to your individual needs, preferences, and limitations.

  • 03. Education, Choice & Collaboration

I believe in informing and empowering you to make the choices that are right for you. We will discuss the available options and determine together what feels appropriate and achievable.

I also have experience working alongside specialists and other healthcare professionals to develop coordinated, well-rounded plans of care.
