Meet Kellan Morgan, RDN, CD
I entered this profession after spending many years working on a family farm, where I developed a deep love for food, movement, and the outdoors. I completed my undergraduate degree in Dietetics at the University of Massachusetts Amherst, but by the time I graduated, I knew something didn't feel quite right. The prescriptive, weight-centered approach I had been taught didn't align with the kind of care I wanted to provide.
After graduation, I stepped away from dietetics for a few years. I worked odd jobs, traveled around the country, and searched for a way to bring together my love for food, healthcare, and the outdoors. Thankfully, I found that intersection in eating disorder recovery, weight-inclusive nutrition care, and sports nutrition—and I haven't looked back since.
Today, I feel incredibly grateful that I get to build meaningful relationships with my patients. I believe each person is the expert on their own body, and I strive to create a space where your experiences, goals, and identities guide our work together. Rather than asking you to fit into a predetermined plan, I adapt evidence-based nutrition care to fit your life.
A Weight-Inclusive & Trauma-Informed Approach to Nutrition
I practice from a trauma-informed, weight-inclusive, LGBTQIA+ affirming lens, with a focus on helping people build a more supportive relationship with food, body, and movement. I believe that relationship looks different for every person, and I love getting to know each individual deeply so we can build an approach that fits your life, rather than someone else's rules.
Whether you're navigating recovering from an eating disorder, training for an athletic goal, managing a chronic health condition, or simply feeling overwhelmed by all of the "shoulds" you've been taught about food and your body, my hope is that our work together feels collaborative, compassionate, and grounded in your own wisdom. I believe you are the expert on your body, and I strive to adapt evidence-based nutrition care that is tailored to your goals, abilities, identities, and lived experience.
As a queer person myself, I also understand how important it can be to feel genuinely safe with your healthcare providers. I work to create an affirming space where every patient feels seen, respected, and supported as their whole self.
Rather than focusing on perfection or rigid food rules, we'll work together to build sustainable habits, restore trust in your body, and create a relationship with food that supports the life you want to live.
Areas of Clinical Focus
-
Whether you're training for a race, spending weekends in the mountains, or simply want to feel stronger during your everyday activities, nutrition plays an important role in both performance and recovery. I work with recreational and competitive athletes experiencing underfueling, fatigue, RED-S (Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport), frequent injuries, or challenges balancing their relationship with food while pursuing athletic goals. Together, we'll build a fueling plan that supports both your performance and your long-term wellbeing.
-
I support individuals recovering from anorexia, bulimia, binge eating disorder, ARFID, OSFED, chronic dieting, compulsive exercise, and disordered eating. My nutrition care is collaborative and individualized and not focused on weight loss.

I also support people build a better relationship with their body image. If you're exhausted by food rules, body comparison, or feeling like you're never doing enough, you're not alone. Together, we'll explore how diet culture, past experiences, and life circumstances may have shaped your relationship with food and your body. My goal is to help you move toward a more trusting, flexible, and supportive relationship with both—one that allows food to take up less space in your mind and more joy in your life.
-
Nutrition can have a significant impact on hormonal health. I support individuals experiencing hypothalamic amenorrhea (missing periods), menstrual cycle disruptions, low energy availability, bone stress injuries, and other concerns related to chronic underfueling. My goal is to help you restore adequate nourishment while supporting your body's health, recovery, and long-term function in a way that feels realistic and sustainable.
-
As a queer person myself, I understand how important it can be to work with healthcare providers who feel affirming and safe. I provide nutrition care that honors your identity, lived experience, and goals while offering additional expertise in gender-affirming nutrition care. My hope is that our work together feels collaborative, supportive, and free from assumptions about your body or your identity.
-
Nutrition recommendations aren't one-size-fits-all—especially when you're managing a chronic health condition. I provide individualized medical nutrition therapy for concerns such as diabetes and other conditions where nutrition can play an important role in symptom management and overall health. Whether you need ongoing support or help navigating a new diagnosis, we'll create an approach that fits your life, not just your lab values.
-
I provide mentorship and consultation for early-career dietitians who are building trauma-informed eating disorder practices. Whether you're navigating complex cases, exploring harm reduction, or learning how to integrate evidence-based care into real-world clinical work, mentorship offers a collaborative space to grow your confidence, judgment, and sustainability as a clinician.

Background & Credentials
I received my undergraduate degree in Dietetics from the University of Massachusetts Amherst and completed my dietetic internship at Montana State University, where I focused on rural health and sustainable food systems. Since then, I've continued to pursue specialized training in eating disorder treatment, gender-affirming nutrition care, hypothalamic amenorrhea, and Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (RED-S).
My professional experience includes work with the National Outdoor Leadership School (NOLS), Backcountry Foodie, and The Period Nutritionist, as well as consulting on LGBTQIA+ affirming healthcare. These experiences have deepened my passion for supporting active individuals, athletes, and people seeking a more compassionate, individualized relationship with food and their bodies.
I also provide mentorship and consultation for early-career dietitians who are building trauma-informed eating disorder practices. Supporting clinicians has become one of the most meaningful parts of my work, and I love helping other dietitians grow into thoughtful, sustainable providers.
Above all, I believe nutrition care should be collaborative, evidence-based, and grounded in each person's unique goals, lived experiences, and identities. My aim is to create a space where you feel supported, respected, and empowered throughout your care.

Yes. In addition to working with patients, I offer mentorship and consultation for early-career dietitians who want to build trauma-informed, relational eating disorder practices. What Keeps Me Joyful
It means so much to me that I get to spend my days caring for other people. Caring for others is deeply meaningful work, and my community has taught me how important it is to fill up my own cup outside of work so I can show up fully for my patients.
When I'm not in the office, I'm usually outside with my little dog, Abby, hiking, exploring, or spending time with friends. While my work is based in Seattle, I'm building my life in Portland, Maine, where I love the forests, lakes, vibrant queer community, Thursday night soccer league, and, every now and then, attempting to surf the frigid Atlantic Ocean.
My dream is to one day have a small piece of land in the woods where I can grow vegetables, enjoy some peace and quiet, and spend even more time outside. Until then, I'm grateful for the simple things that keep me grounded and bring me joy.
